Meet Your Coaches - Acting
TIM CARROLL currently serves as Artistic Director of The Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake, a position he's held since 2017. Carroll may be best known for his years as Associate Director at London’s Globe Theatre, in particular for his productions of Richard III and Twelfth Night, starring Mark Rylance, for whose Broadway run in the 2013-14 season he was Tony-nominated and Mark Rylance won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor.
Carroll worked with the English Shakespeare Company before serving as the artistic director of the Northcott Theatre in Exeter. Carroll also served as the artistic director for the Kent Opera, and he is a founding member of the experimental theatre group the Factory in London. Carroll’s directing work has spanned not only the Globe but the globe, from theatres in Hungary, Norway, Portugal, Romania, and Canada!
In addition to his directing work, Carroll has lead numerous international master classes.
In October, the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Othello will be directed by Carroll, led by John Douglas Thompson in the title role, with Will Keen as Iago and Juliet Rylance as Desdemona.
TOM TODOROFF is a producer, director, actor and performance coach who has directed, coached and/or acted opposite Peter O’Toole, Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson, Liam Neeson, Sasha Alexander, Allison Janney, Tony Goldwyn and Brendan Gleeson among so many others. Tom's background includes training at Juilliard in NYC and with Stella Adler as well as a 15 year working relationship with Michael Shurtleff (famed casting director & author of “Audition”). Tom directed Jimmy Buffett's world-wide concert tour for seven years and he produced ten feature films in Hollywood, including Cobb (with Tommy Lee Jones) and an educational TV series called Working Shakespeare: RSC Meets USA (also Director - with Cicely Berry, Jeremy Irons, members of The Royal Shakespeare Company in the UK and U.S. actors).
Tom is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Tom Todoroff Studio. He resides in Weston, CT, New York, NY and Santa Monica, CA and coaches actors and directors live, online all around the world every Saturday, Monday and Tuesday in "The Workshop". ALEXIS MILLIGAN is an actor, movement specialist and director. Acting credits include: Any Given Moment (Ship’s Company Theatre/Theatre New Brunswick); 8 Seasons with Two Planks and a Passion Theatre (notably Rosalind/As You Like It - Merritt Award Nominee; 937; Beowulf - Merritt Award Nominee); Associate Artist with Theatre Gargantua; 7 international tours with Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia. Film/TV credits include: Some Things Won’t Sleep (Foglight Productions - ACTRA Award Nominee); Hot Wheels (Mattel); Addison (KidsCBC); Seed (City TV - ACTRA Award Nominee). Alongside her performance work Alexis is a noted artistic collaborator and has created choreography and movement for many theatre companies around the world.
Currently in her seventh season as Movement Director at The Shaw Festival, selected credits include: The Game of Love and Chance, Desire Under the Elms; Sex (by Mae West), The Glass Menagerie, and Saint Joan. Alexis was also the movement and puppetry director for the sold out run of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at The Stratford Festival, as well as En Julefortelling (A Christmas Carol) with the National Theatre of Norway in Bergen. EMILY MOULTON is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City, and has studied at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) and L’Universitá di Bologna, Italy. Emily has trained and acted in New York, L.A. and Oxford, England.
As Executive Director of the Tom Todoroff Studio since 2008, Emily oversees training programs around the world. Emily has lead voice & speech workshops for actors as well as public speakers and business leaders in the U.S., England, Canada, and Dubai.
In New York City, Emily co-founded the annual Summer Intensive training program, The Conservatory, The CORE and, most recently, The Workshop, a live, online weekly training program for actors, directors, writers and passionate creatives.
Emily spearheaded the National Accreditation of The Tom Todoroff Studio by The National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST).
As a singer and violinist, Emily performs with Susan Cowsill and Dar Williams. Emily is a passionate animal lover and advocate. She is involved with the Best Friends Animal Society.

This membership includes a live, online 3.5 hour acting class with Tom, a 1.5 hour warm-up lesson with our voice / speech / movement faculty from Juilliard, Yale Drama, Broadway, Film & TV etc. as well as hundreds of hours of recorded video lessons on acting, voice and speech and links to scripts and additional resources you can access anytime on your membership dashboard (value $408 cad / $297 usd per month).
